In my journey from hospitality to sales to HR, I channel my inner Steve Jobs: 'Stay hungry stay foolish'. Let's challenge the norms. Fueled by this mantra I have been in continuous learning mode and super curious human being. I question and then find answers to them as well. During Covid I got the opportunity to move into HR as a tech recruiter. In the first month itself my founder saw my potential and I was promoted to full time employee with a salary hike. I made a structured excel sheet to track applicants and we found 30 candidates in MERN stack rolling out the 1st offer in less than 45 days of my joining the team. Currently working with a Y Combinator backed startup, I have had the opportunity to see the breadth of HR handling not only recruitment but also hr generalist activities + payroll, compliances, people operations and now business partnering. It’s been a roller coaster ride, with its own set of challenges. Till date I have hired more than 90 team members scaling up the team from 10 member including 2 members in HR team. Saved significant cost of approx INR 3L by doing in-house implementation of HRMS, payroll and ATS systems. I also had nearly 8 yrs of experience in Sales and started with one of the biggest hospitality brands in the world, The Taj Mahal Palace & Towers and over the journey have worked in service selling and product selling both. Over the years have worked with Wonderchef, Franchise India. Beyond corporate jobs, entrepreneurship beckoned. I have successfully ran my own brand Nivva Rustic Indian Cafe for 2 years generated an average revenue of 2.5L per month. While the journey was very hard but very satisfying and a great learning at the same time.
