I have been building large scale distributed systems to tackle scale challenges, architecting deeply technical end-to-end systems to solve product challenges and fostering a culture of learning and perseverance to solve engineering challenges for the last 12+ years. I am a student and a problem solver at heart. I am not tied to a specific piece of technology and believe fundamentally in using the right tool for the job. Similarly, I strongly believe in the idea of utilizing people to their strenghts while simulateneously nurturing them for the unknown. I have taken lots of decisions that have survivied the test of time and tons more that failed. In other words, I pride myself in having learnt my lessons through experience and prize both my successes and failures. On a technical front, I have personally become intimately familiar with the rough edges of the Von Neumann architecture. I am initmately familiar with the challenges of building large scale distributed systems, be it the hardware performance characteristics, or the internals of the networking stack or the right data structures to store and transfer data. I have built, deployed and maintained end to systems ranging from the hardware to the UI, interacting with provisioning, configuration, development, testing, deployment and maintenance I have created databases from scratch, managed them at petabyte scale. I have architected data orchestration and processing systems from zero, evolved product backends and frontends, gone into the depths of existing large scale systems like Spark, HBase, Hadoop, Kubernetes, Clickhouse etc. I have also touched the internals of Linux quite often, written toy kernels as fun projects and a strong believer in the power of curiosity and tinkering.
