About

I graduated from Rotman Commerce at the University of Toronto with a specialization in Management specifically focussing on Finance, Strategy Innovation and Leadership, and minors in Economics and Computer Science. I have varied interests that span from reading, writing, photography and theatre to financial investing and advising, project management, strategy consulting, risk analysis and investigation, and equity based community work. I also enjoy working with tech-based entrepreneurial problems and have participated in multiple hackathons to develop and hone these skills. Additionally, I am highly passionate about women empowerment and have always had a lifelong commitment to giving back to the community. Having studied in one of my country's oldest all-girls school, I am aware of the privileged position that I grew up in. My long term goal is to use my education and my fields of interests to bring positive changes in the lives of women in all countries.

Vice President (Project Manager)

Apr 2019Jun 2020 · 1 yr 2 mos · Greater Toronto Area, Canada

  • The UTSU has two essential functions: 1) advocacy and 2) service provision. The advocacy work includes lobbying the government and the university administration, organizing public education campaigns, and supporting student initiatives. The services include grants for students in need, funding for student clubs, and the student health insurance plan.
  • The Vice-President, University Affairs acts as an operations manager and engages directly with the U of T administration, working on everything from academic advocacy to policy reform. They also represent the UTSU on a number of important university bodies as the chief liaison.
  • In this role, I worked collaboratively with senior-level executives and key stakeholders such as the university president to find strategic solutions to student problems. This role required me to use surveys, large data sets, and other data capture techniques to develop detailed analysis reports while leading a team of 10+ executive assistants. I was also the primary point of contact with external partners such as RBC, Top Hat, Blackboard and many other organizations in the educational sector - this enabled me to improve my relationship building and stakeholder management skills.

  • During Alternate Reading Week, hundreds of U of T students immerse themselves in volunteering on various projects with local community organizations. Students make meaningful contributions, build relationships and learn more about the City of Toronto.
  • As a work-study student, I was in charge of coordinating and ensuring the successful completion of the project. From developing funding proposals to planning promotional events, I was able to improve both my administrative and organizational skills while managing a vast network of external and internal contacts to increase program capacity by over 60%.
