• As an Intern we gain hands-on experience in cybersecurity, network monitoring, and security automation, contributing to a real-world security solution.
• We implemented the Intrusion Detection System (IDS) which is a crucial software in cybersecurity that monitors networks for malicious activity and security policy violations. Traditionally, manual monitoring was required to detect intrusions, but IDS automates this process by analyzing network traffic and identifying suspicious patterns.
• This internship project focuses on developing a prototype IDS that detects network attacks by monitoring traffic flow and identifying malicious packets. The system will be useful for:
• Traffic Monitoring: Analyzing network traffic to detect anomalies.
• Intrusion Prevention: Working with security systems to block malicious packets.
• Firewall Security: Preventing unauthorized access through open ports.
• Application Protocol Analysis: Monitoring communication on application-specific protocols.
• Enterprise Protection: Logging, reporting, and alerting administrators about potential threats.
