About

I'm a partner at Wilson Sonsini, which is the top corporate law firm in Silicon Valley and one of the top corporate law firms in the United States. Wilson Sonsini advises the best companies in technology. For example, the firm advised Apple, DoorDash, Google, LinkedIn, Netflix, Palantir, Square and Twitter on their landmark IPOs. Wilson Sonsini also works with the next wave of leaders, including Anduril, Anthropic, Aurora, Brex, Cursor, Luma, Nuro, Physical Intelligence, Reflection AI, Scale AI, Temporal and Waymo, among others. I lead the firm's work with a number of these companies. I help start-ups and unicorns raise capital. But my relationship with companies surpasses fundraising advice and I regularly provide guidance on various day to day business matters. In so doing, I build close relationships with founders, management teams and investors and more closely resemble a trusted advisor than a lawyer. I advise 17 unicorns and approximately 50 earlier stage companies. I do not ever work with investors (though I like many of them!). I've negotiated over 1,000 equity investments during my career. These include venture capital deals led by Accel, Andreessen Horowitz, Benchmark, DCM, Founders Fund, General Catalyst, Greylock, Innovation Endeavors, Kleiner Perkins, Sequoia, Thrive and Y Combinator. I've also negotiated strategic investments led by Amazon, Google, Microsoft, NVIDIA, OpenAI, Snowflake and Uber, growth investments led by DST, SoftBank (Corporate), SoftBank (Vision Fund) and Tiger Global, and crossover investments led by Fidelity and T. Rowe Price, among others. Finally, I'm a frequent lecturer at the Stanford Graduate School of Business on topics relating to venture capital fundraising and boards of directors.
