About

I love web development with a passion, and while I am mostly well-versed in the Microsoft tech stack, I am a bit tech-agnostic, so long as it's a relevant / powerful language or platform that can deliver web applications and services (I like to flirt with Node and Python). I can build the full stack, from front-end UX design and navigation (utlizing the latest in relevant browser-based standards like HTML5, CSS3, and Angular / React), to Domain Driven Design in the middle tier, to exposing that domain in a RESTful web-based api, to the persistence layer and actual database design/implementation. I can also wear a light DevOps hat if/when necessary, whether it be cloud-hosted apps in Azure/GCP or on-premise servers, including configuring containerized apps in Docker and hosted in Kubernetes. This is me and it's the world I love. If I'm working in this area of development, I don't feel like I'm really working. This makes me a bit of a nerd I guess, but I'm ok with that!

  • Software engineer in a contractor role participating in development of large patient portal / public facing web application written in C# ASP.Net MVC. Developed code using a variety of supporting technologies including HTML5, CSS3, Javascript, JQuery, Ninject, Handlebars.js, AppFabric, and KendoUI controls. We followed a very mature Agile Scrum SDLC supported by TFS 2012 for source control, user story documenting and prioritizing, task documenting, and facilitation of code reviews. We utilized BDD unit testing leveraging the Moq library to achieve code coverage. Integrated with Microsoft's HealthVault application and heavily utilized their sdk to provide enhanced functionality and to do authentication (OAuth2).
