• Worked on a Lucene based search service for PII data management system supporting different types of searches and filter expressions.
• Designed and implemented the complete LLD for the search service from scratch.
• Optimized the search service to achieve an average index creation time of ~20 mins and search time of ~150ms in a dataset of 25M documents in the index for each tenant.
• Developed the functionality of being able to update the data in the Lucene documents and perform searches in near real time using Hazelcast's pub-sub queuing model.
• Optimized the memory consumption to prevent OOM using pagination & multithreading while loading the entire data for each tenant to create indices on application start-up.
• Developed a custom parser to generate Lucene queries from filter expressions.
• Developed a PoC for the functionality of allowing the client applications to store and retrieve client and server side encrypted files to and from AWS S3.
