Dr Rao was the Founder (First) Principal and Consultant of B K Birla Centre for Education (Prop: B K Birla Foundation), besides being the Consultant and Advisor to Birla Public School, Doha, Qatar. He also took up the challenge of establishing schools of DYP International Academy (IB & CAIE) and DYP Educational Enterprises in Maharashtra state; and units of JSS MVP (ISC and CBSE), Mysore, at Dubai, UAE. Dr Rao feels strongly that schools cannot maintain a position and status of moated self-sufficiency due to the onslaught of Digital technology, which is transforming the global communication systems by accelerating the delivery of information. He holds M Sc. in Chemistry as well as triple Masters in Humanities with a B Ed degree and a PG Diploma in Higher Education.
