Development of Software for Reading, Parsing, and Tracking GPS Accuracy & Position
The purpose of this project is to develop user-friendly GUI software for reading GPS string, parse it, and
displaying the accuracy of GPS in the form of a circle with respect to Horizontal Dilution of Precision
(HDOP). The software is developed to receive GPS input strings GPGGA and GPRMC. While GPGGA is
used to fetch the values of Latitude, Longitude, and HDOP, GPRMC is used to fetch altitude-related data.
Microsoft Visual Studio 2010 is used as a developing IDE and programming is done in C#.
The software has to perform the following tasks:
1. It takes input from the user. The user selects the specific Port Name and Baud Rate.
2. The data is fetched according to the user’s input from GPS Simulator through the serial Port.
3. It displays the fetched data into the specified textboxes.
4. According to fetched data, it displays the location and accuracy of GPS in pictorial form
