Trymph inc.

Founder & CEO

May 2011Aug 2014 · 3 yrs 3 mos · Mountain View, CA

  • When I started Trymph, mobile applications primarily provided single-player experiences. Our key idea was to create a Cloud platform that app-developers could use to easily create multiplayer experiences.
  • The key technical challenges in building these Cloud services were to compensate for the high-latency and low-bandwidth networks, ability to scale for a much larger user-base, and support an off-line operation with shorter duration interactions. We addressed latency and scaling by building edge-cacheable REST APIs, and offline operation with a local store-and-forward messaging solution. In addition, we provided Cloud services for a number of common user-cases such as user account management, match-making, turn-based async multiplayer gaming, in-game push notifications and chat. We also created Android and iOS native SDKs for use by app-developers.
  • Using our own platform, we created 9+ multiplayer games. 3 of our games reached more than a million users each. One of our game was written with cross-platform code-base across Android, iOS and Web.
  • Trymph was acquired by Peel Technologies in 2014, and I joined Peel as its Chief Software Architect.

Center for development of telematics (c-do t)

Research Engineer

Aug 1993Aug 1995 · 2 yrs · Delhi, India

  • CDoT was the first company in India to create a complete Telecom Switching System with a custom multi-processor hardware, Operating System, and the application software built entirely in-house. It provided a great opportunity to learn how to put such complex integrated systems together.
  • Learned how to create software architectures for highly complex distributed systems with extremely stringent fault-tolerance requirements. In addition, CDoT also had custom distributed hardware, Operating Systems, and the application software stack, providing opportunity to learn how to put together such complex integrated systems.
  • Switching Systems had to meet extremely stringent requirements for fault-tolerance. I co-designed fault-tolerance software architecture and communication protocols for the new ISDN Switching Systems modules. Co-authored specifications for fault tolerance and software recovery.
