• Founding member of the Operations team in London, which soon became the SRE team. This role originally saw me maintaining Cloudflare's global network of Linux servers and fighting the Internet bad guys by coming up with solutions for mitigating DDoS attacks to protect our customers' websites.
• I was soon promoted to Team Lead for London, co-ordinating with my peers in San Francisco. I helped hire, train and mentor team members in London and Singapore.
• After a couple more years my role changed to Technical Lead, providing guidance and insight to SRE team members across three offices and working with engineering managers to help direct the teams at a technical level. The role still has me working very much inside the teams rather than above them and working on the same problems day to day. I help write and maintain tools (one of which was open sourced by the company), configuration management code, and internal APIs, largely using Go or Python.

• Security platforms include Nokia security appliances with Check Point VPN-1 and Firewall-1.
• Also built/maintain the Squid cache hierarchy and the core DNS infrastructure.
