• Served a community of 7,000 people as a Health ICT (Information Communication Technology) Volunteer
• Taught ICT classes for grades 11 and 12 at the local secondary school. I incorporated western learning techniques and encouraged participation. Of my 600 students a majority of 92% passed the class.
• Initiated, managed, and evaluated a sheep and goat fattening business run by a 270-member association of people living with HIV/AIDS (PLWHA). The project provided a sustainable source of income and improved food security.
• Successfully integrated into Northern Ethiopian community by becoming fluent in the local language and committing myself to learning the customs and traditions of the Tigray region.

• Completed a yearlong partnership with Century 21 (Muncie) and Ball State University, to create real estate commission estimation software. The application was conceived, designed, and created through the capstone course, Software Engineering (CS497 and CS 498). The application was designed according to several industry standards, which include: requirements capture, design, development, testing, maintenance, configuration management, and quality assurance.
