About

I'm writing this “about” section to introduce myself and help readers understand more about my profile and personality. But before I introduce myself further, I would like to share that I'm a person from a poor place in Brazil with a pretty tricky upbringing. Open-source software changed my life and, consequently, the lives of my entire family. So, in short, Open-Source software means everything to me! I am Jeferson, a married father of three. I am passionate about open-source software, sharing knowledge, and communities. I have over 20 years of experience working with OSS in large, highly critical environments, such as Walmart.com and Santander Bank. I created a YouTube channel, which has reached 110 thousand subscribers today. We talk about Linux, Kubernetes, DevOps, automation, and more. When I made the channel ten years ago, I aimed to share knowledge about technology with people who don't have money to pay for a course and/or for people who can't read in another language other than Portuguese. So, with this in mind, I began to create content, and during these six years of the channel, we have had over 200 videos, taking talks at over 50 events in the last six years around Brazil. We know about the importance of diversity in the community. To help include more women in the community, we created the project "Chama as Mina", where we trained, with an intensive course, over 1500 women to learn about Ansible, Terraform, Vault, and Packer for free and more than 8000 women to learn about AWS. We created another project, but this time to help black people get a better opportunity in IT, giving intensive training about Docker, Kubernetes, and Istio for free for over 1000 black people. Of course, we have other projects, and I could share with you another opportunity.
