• Your Credit Union received widespread support at all levels, from the main public bodies to individual tenants/workers, and grew to be seen as a flagship initiative in Central London.
• Key local organisations and stakeholders recognised its potential, not only to become an effective and sustainable not-for-profit enterprise that could provide individual benefit to each member, but also an organisation that could play a significant role in the overall social and economic development of the area.
• Your Credit Union ended its role in the community following the unprecedented tragedy of Grenfell Tower and the corresponding effect on its major financial supporters: Kensington and Chelsea Tenant Management Organisation (KCTMO) and the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea (RBKC). Your Credit Union provided over £10 million of social benefit to the community, helping thousands and providing an alternative to the scourge of loan sharks and payday lenders.
