  • Alexa Location Services, Sunnyvale
  • Planned, designed and implemented the migration of a Tier 1 service which handled around 90000 transactions per second, from Amazon internal infra to Native AWS. Automated creation of AWS infrastructure via code which improved extensibility to support regionalized stacks. Migration to Native AWS reduced operation load by 20% with no net increase in cost thereby meeting our cost reduction goals
  • Ran campaigns with over 70 clients to migrate traffic to Native AWS without disrupting the availability, latency and user experience by setting up a custom AWS Route53 DNS Migration infrastructure. Integrated scheduled scaling policies and API based throttling. Collaborated with the test team to integrate with AWS Hydra to implement integration, functional and load tests for ALS on Native AWS
  • Contributed to the Coarse Location accuracy improvement initiative. Worked on integrating a new input signal - GeoIP which improved the accuracy of the algorithm from 65% to 90%.
  • Security lead for sharing GPS-derived device coarse location data to various teams within Amazon.
  • ‣ Implemented My Content and Devices deletion and GDPR capabilities displayed on the Amazon retail webpage for coarse location data present in internal stores within the customer promised 5 day SLA
  • ‣ Designed, implemented and delivered a full-fledged auditing system to ensure location data was completely deleted from internal data-stores on customer account and profile closures within the 30 day customer SLA
  • ‣ Drove conversations with all teams in the data flow path to ensure they met the access and deletion control criteria defined in Amazon’s geo-location data handling policy
  • ‣ Addressed security findings for our Geofencing and Geolocation modules which were raised through penetration tests
  • Gained experience in Cloud Services, A/B Testing, Gamedays, Service Operational Readiness Reviews

  • Cisco IT, Bangalore
  • Next Generation Conference Rooms
  • The goal was to automate the conference room experience using IoT technologies like Beacons (Bluetooth Low Energy Emitting devices) and RFIDs.
  • Developed a protocol that specified the order in which the different equipment would activate and communicate with each other
  • Enabled immediate startup of equipment by identifying employees via their smart phones and relaying them to the outlook server using a Java code script and S+CC URLS
  • Designed a time triggered automatic projector health check algorithm using Image Processing techniques in Java
  • Asset Tracking
  • Integrated a value added feature to the next generation conference room solution in order to keep track of assets within a conference room.
  • Configured and attached economical passive RFIDs to the essential assets in the room, like chairs, projectors, tables
  • Captured signals reflected by them using a passive RFID reader and kept an inventory of the number of assets per conference room. This data could be later used for servicing or tracking of the assets

  • Designed an architecture that facilitates sharing of resources without the need for repeated authentication during task delegation among multiple Openstack cloud deployments that are used for IaaS . This project was done in collaboration with EMC2.
  • Understood in detail ,the authorization and authentication component of Openstack ,i.e, Keystone.
  • Incorporated the RAT (Resource acquisition token) in keystone, the authorization and authentication component, which issues it to the user of the home cloud once verification by the foreign cloud is complete and enables access to resources until the user deactivates his account or after a preset time period
  • Tested the architecture using the home cloud’s threshold resource values and observed delegation of work on the foreign cloud’s resources through Openstack Dashboard statistics.
  • Wrote a paper on this project along with team members which was submitted to Springer’s Conference, November 2014.
  • Future work includes addressing the issue of portability and interoperability of the code using an upcoming API called Deltacloud, a flexible platform that allows for writing code using generic APIs, which in turn converts it into the cloud specific APIs.

  • The goal was to design a visualization model to represent the high frequency areas where the product would be advertised and launched first based on previous product sales and reviews thus reducing advertising costs.
  • Extracted location data of Facebook users stored in MongoDB
  • Used OpenGL to plot nodes on the visualization model by assigning unique colors (based on the country flags and location coordinates of the users) using Google Map APIs and Python
  • Focused on studying patterns and relationships between entities having common traits and developing a congruent network for launching commercial products to the interested communities
