• o Managing operational, structural and tactical aspects of the business along with support operations; procurement, supply chain, operational excellence, operational processes and governance.

• Board member representing Alghanim in our JV with Saint-Gobain for our large insulation business in Kuwait (Kimmco), Saudi Arabia (Simmco) and Turkey (Izocam). Focus on strategy, market and structure as part of the 6-member board. Deep dive into energy consumption & conservation, along with working on three different acquisition projects totaling more than US$ 220 million. Further working on regulations and specifications across the geographies.

• Additional responsibilities leading the overall expansion strategy for Alghanim’s businesses in Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, UAE, Qatar & Oman, in real estate, construction, facilities and procurement in a turnkey fashion. Responsibilities include:
• o Acquiring real estate, planning projects and permitting, designing and building these projects, all across Kuwait and GCC.
• o Completion and facilities management of completed projects.
• o Managing budgets and timelines along with the day to day needs of the businesses.
• o Stakeholder management both internally (board and businesses) and externally (partners, designers, contractors and suppliers).
• o Focus on procurement, supply chain, operational excellence and governance.

• In the six months managed to find and assess more than 120 locations for our F&B and Retail businesses in the five countries, with a conversion rate of 70%.
• Undertook major procurement exercise using SAP Ariba and other platforms to source suppliers and contractors in GCC leveraging economies of scale across our businesses.

• In charge of Alghanim’s Construction, Facilities Management & Property teams, leading more than 700 professionals in these domains. Managing more than 100 assets and properties in seven different countries exceeding US$ 1.2 billion in value (details upon request). Responsibilities include:

• o CAFM Platforms & SLA management tools
• Leading the project management and delivery of more than 150 projects of all sizes, ranging between retail, commercial and industrial projects in Kuwait, KSA and UAE, completing projects with total values of US$ 750 million.
• Managed working relations with international principals of different brands & franchises in retail, automotive, F&B and furniture.
• Leading our expansion in the region with our retail and food & beverage businesses in the UAE and KSA.
• On the construction side, leading the team through new build and fit out projects in Kuwait, KSA and UAE, where we have completed projects worth more than KD 30 M (US$ 90 M) in 2015-2016, with projects in the pipeline for the next couple of years’ worth more than KD 40 M (US$ 120 M).
• Projects completed on design / build basis varying from full construction (new Honda showrooms) to full fit out works (our new HQ in Al-Hamra tower, new showrooms in KSA, food & beverage outlets and many more).

• Carrying out construction / fit-out / refurbishing projects within these facilities, and to external customers, on a turnkey basis and in parallel in many cases.
• Planning & Implementation of Planned Preventative Maintenance with monitoring tools and the use of CAFM, SAP, among others.
• Carrying out repair & maintenance both through in-house staff and external suppliers & contractors.
• Looking after RFQs, RFPs, service contracts, SLAs, rent agreements, statutory licenses and similar.
• Overall command on other soft and hard facilities tasks, including security, cleaning & safety, through respective teams.
