My current role at Blinkit involves working in the Platform team, focusing on system engineering equivalents for iOS. However, my passion for technology extends beyond this, as I have explored diverse areas such as Robotics, Machine Learning, Reinforcement Learning, Social Computing, Big Data Mining, and Computer Vision. I consider Algorithms to be my trump card, enabling me to delve into various domains effortlessly. As an iOS platform engineer, I get to tinker with iOS on a core level dealing with infrastructure and tools (described below) that improves user experience and helps the team efficiently deliver app features without having to worry about system level details. These include:
Implemented Live Activity (iOS 16.1+) and Standby Mode(iOS 17+) that allows our users to track order status from their lockscreen or on Dynamic Island (iPhone 14 pro and above). Collaborated with our backend team to setup push notifs based updates.
Maintainer of our in-house debug drawer which has various features like API tracking, server access etc.
Migrated from Rudderstack(https://www.rudderstack.com) to our in-house analytics platform which is estimated to save the team much more than million dollars a month.
I wholeheartedly believe in creating inclusive experiences. By making comprehensive app-wide changes to the Apple-supported VoiceOver Accessibility feature, I ensured that our app became completely accessible, opening doors for everyone to enjoy its wonders.
Setup automatic build upload to TestFlight(beta testing platform) and App Store by using Fastlane. This also reduces the release build time by 41%(to 32 mins) while saving manual developer intervention time.
Setup Firebase performance which enables the team to track the time each segment of code took to run, API response time, and screen freezes on global scale.
Setup an end to end automation system using Google's Earl Grey to verify the firing of all expected analytics events during development
Successfully resolved critical memory leaks
Collaborated with the product team on various UI changes and experiments, notably enhancing Blinkit's Map experience.
Responsible for maintaining our slack bot which currently informs our team about fatal crashes in production (redirected from Crashlytics), velocity alerts etc.
