During my enriching internship at Amazon, I was a part of the Payments Team, working on various projects of consumer payments across multiple marketplaces, including NA, EU, and JP. Here's a high-level overview of my experience and accomplishments:
Web Mock Servers:
To facilitate dependency mocking in the service, I developed web mock servers. This allowed for easier and faster testing by replacing live services with mock services. I successfully mocked downstream dependencies.
AFP(Accelerate Fulfillment Process) Expiry:
I implemented a mechanism to track expiring promotions, ensuring a better customer experience. This involved designing multiple approaches, shipping code changes, and conducting rigorous testing to ensure accurate and timely promotion expiry tracking.
Bender Lib Monitoring Improvement:
I enhanced the automation of creating and maintaining alarms and monitors for services, resulting in improved monitoring and alarm systems. I designed high-level and low-level details for the monitors, shipped code changes, and configured a large number of useful monitors.
Stress Testing:
I focused on enhancing stress testing for the services, ensuring robustness, availability, and error handling under heavy loads. This involved designing stress testing procedures, improving stress testing in pipelines, and executing tests to validate the system's performance.
Disable SNS/SQS Subscriptions:
I eliminated unnecessary SNS event listening by disabling the SNS subscription. This reduced the number of tickets received due to Large Scale Events (LSE).
Throughout my internship, I proactively tackled ambiguous situations, adapted to changing project scopes, and successfully overcame technical roadblocks. I further honed my technical skills, including Java programming, AWS services, and pipeline management. My performance demonstrated strengths in taking ownership, working independently. I consistently prioritized deliverables and maintained a high level of code quality.
