About

Hey there. I am a UX leader who loves delivering profound business results. I do this by elevating the culture and driving cross-functional team work. I build highly effective design teams that are smart, talented, hard working and diverse. I'm a hands-on leader who focuses on the strategic direction but have the domain expertise to hop in and help out when stuff gets real, if a teammate needs a hand or if the problem is particularly wicked. My approach to UX and product design is simple. I work with teams to identify the big challenges, seek to understand the underlying problems and users, define them in ways that are compelling and ultimately elevate the creative problem-solving process. From there we create a powerful north star vision, ruthlessly prioritize features and flows to deliver incredible digital products and services. We don't rest with phase 0 or even phase 1 – we deliver iterations, enhance the great, optimize the weak and phase out the poor performers. We relentlessly question the solutions and even the process to ensure that we are doing what is absolutely needed. My current focus is cloud-based enterprise software for enterprise resource planning. Building AI/ML tools that offer demand forecasting, supply chain and logistics capabilities and merchant tools. I've developed project management applications and other productivity software solutions.

Argodesign

Director of UX

Jan 2021Jan 2024 · 3 yrs · Austin, Texas, United States · On-site

  • Founded by Mark Rolston, former Frog Chief Creative Officer, Argodesign is a product design and innovation firm based in Austin, New York, Amsterdam and Munich. We work with clients from a range of industries including robotics, technology, social media, retail and manufacturing.
  • My current day job is leading the Sam's Club account, which my program director partner and I have grown 10x. We are a global design team that is embedded in Sam's Product Design and Research team. We work with product managers, engineers, and business teams to deliver UX research and product design for employees and associates.
  • The Sam's Club team and the users require highly specialized, complex software to support equally complex workflows and goals. Every day, we design alongside users and the product teams to create powerful solutions. Sometimes we develop personas and journeys. Sometimes we create north star vision prototypes and product strategies. Sometimes we are a feature factory. But we're always delivering extremely meaningful business results by elevating the smart, pragmatic and generous business users. They rule.
  • Before that I worked with ProjectManager.com. PM.com was an innovator in project management software when they launched in 2008. But the product staled out and was the victim of low investment, interesting business practices and a propensity for bolt-on's. I worked with PM.com's heads of product and marketing to define the new personas and the new future of work. We developed a series of innovation workshops to ideate new features, prioritize them and develop a product roadmap. We created the value proposition and designed the acquisition journey including dotcom. PM.com was able to take our detailed Figma screens, flows, components and documentation and launch the new product within 3 months of delivery. That was rad.
