• Hopscotch is India’s leading kids fashion brand where aspiration meets accessibility. It is headquartered in Mumbai with an office in China. With over 3 million monthly active users, Hopscotch is India’s largest technology driven, fast fashion kids apparel brand and it continues to grow three folds every year. Using data to foresee future trends, hundreds of new styles are launched daily, giving consumers across the globe access to the latest fashion from across the globe.
• I have been working on performance improvements so that site be very responsive and can be easily scalable. I laid the foundation for making this e-commerce site real time and successfully achieved this have moved it on elastic search completely. This has reduced load on database server, so now with current architecture it is scalable to 10x.
• Projects Appreciated:
• 1. Making Hopscotch Site Real Time: I migrated complete data of Hopscotch site to elastic search(search server) to fetch data from this; so helping in improve performance and reducing load on Database.
• 2. Incorporating REDIS Cache: I incorporated Redis Cache in our system. It is using AWS Redis Cache. Redis Server has been used to cater three different needs viz. Caching, Handling Lock Mechanism and Session Data.
• 3. Upgrading Elastic Search to its latest version with out any bug: I migrated the elastic search server from version 1.2 to its latest version 5.1.1 and achievement is that it was done in short span and made live without any bug.
• 4. Won Hackathon event and made Idea Live: I presented an idea of Hopscotch Moments in my organisation. The idea is where users of Hopscotch can share their kids’ photo on site and we are using this data as Shop The LookProduct page too and hence increasing engagement and leading to conversion. It has been made live too.
• 5. Designing and Developing Module : I have completely re-design many modules with scalable architecture and used suitable design patterns to accomplish the aim of modules.
