It's a team game. That's one of the first fundamentals I shared with players as a coach on my daughters’ basketball teams. We can win if everyone contributes and works together. I’ve found it’s the same in business. My earliest work experiences involved helping startups find white space opportunities in their industries. That entrepreneurial spirit plus a desire to develop talent and help others be successful laid the groundwork for my career in business development. I enjoy negotiating and closing first-in-kind deals that solve complex business problems with mutual benefit. My passion is working on global partnerships, having built and executed deals with companies in more than a dozen countries. This includes the privilege of leading some of the biggest device deals for Amazon. A good day at work involves unblocking problems on a major deal, creatively finding a line of sight that allows teams to move forward. I’ve found a player/coach relationship negotiating complex deals from start to finish is a positive way to mentor and develop great BD talent. Creating a sense of team and working cross functionally with product managers, marketing, legal and finance to get a deal done is also really satisfying. I love innovating, building businesses, developing and leading great teams.
