I’m a multidisciplinary professional working at the intersection of community, wellness, and technology. With nearly a decade of experience in event and community management, I’ve curated inclusive spaces for connection, growth, and reflection; whether that’s a tech panel, a wellness retreat, or an intimate event.   • Anfaani is a wellness app for Black women that uses somatic therapy to connect the mind and body for holistic healing.
  • Researchers at NYU Rory Meyers College of Nursing and Columbia University School of Nursing found that Black women with depression were likelier to report somatic symptoms – such as fatigue, physical pain, insomnia, irritability, and signs of self-criticism and self-blame.
  • Unfortunately, due to the mistrust of the health sector, medical racism among doctors and the stigma surrounding mental health disorders, only 6% of Black women will seek help.
  • Anfaani wants to tackle missed care and close the mental well-being treatment gap and disparities by approaching it holistically.
