• Manakaar farm is located 15 Kms ahead of the town of Almora. Manakaar farm is a farm stay and homestay as well.The farm also hosts manakaar studio - creator and retailer of handmade products. My role as an independent designer exists independently as well as under the banner of Manakaar studio. The offerings include design and curation of handmade products, specially wood, metal and wovens.

• Dolka Innovations was a formal extension of my independent design practice. This entity was created to formally engage with customers who wanted to partner with a business entity rather than an individual, especially overseas customers. As a boutique design studio, Dolka provided services to customers across the globe. Apart from engaging directly with end customers, we also aligned our services with software companies and design agencies to offer holistic design services.

Jan 2003 – Aug 2019 · 16 yrs 7 mos

• As a partner I conceptualized and designed this bio resort located in village Satoli in the Nainital district of Uttarakhand. The primary driver of this project was to create an eco-resort driven by local resources. The idea was to skill and employ locals so that we not only create a sustainable model of tourism but also help check migration through creation of local opportunities for business and employment.

• Starting with business design, I helped individuals and organizations translate business ideas into tangible products and assisted them in identifying user needs, market realities, and business and design trends to see where we one stands and in which direction should one move ahead. I have worked on a wide varieties of projects, across industry verticals. The scope of my work was not limited to UI/UX/CX alone as I actively participated in formulating business and product strategies, content and communication plans, and so on.

• The engagement did not last long due to global market forces, but it was fun till it lasted. Creating content for children along with a fabulous team of illustrators, animators, writers and programmers was an experience to cherish. We not only managed a portal for kids but also went live with a portal for parents and an e-commerce platform for children. Looking back, I think being ahead of time worked against us.

Jan 1997 – Jan 2000 · 3 yrs

• A venture conceptualized with colleagues from college, it was a ride of a lifetime. Though I had to quit the venture due to unavoidable circumstances, it was a life changing experience that exposed me to the realities of marketplace, duality of customer engagements and pleasures of delivering the right stuff at the right time. It facilitated the transition from being a designer to becoming someone who is willing to do everything that is needed to run an organization – ensure consistent inflows of projects, manage the engagement, ensure timely completion, managing people & resources, and so on.
