Rajan Rai — Co-Founder
I’m Rajan, Founder of Three Thirty. I grew up in a single-parent household on free school meals. When I discovered fencing, I quickly realised competing would require resources I didn’t have. So I found a way to create them. I started a small venture at school, selling my grandmother’s chutney alongside samosas to fund competition fees. That experience shaped how I approach problems: work with what’s available and build from there. Fencing went on to open doors I could not have anticipated. I represented Great Britain, became a UK Sport funded athlete, and won medals at the Commonwealth Games and World Championships. More importantly, it instilled habits that have carried into my professional life: discipline, consistency, and the ability to operate under constraint. I founded Three Thirty to bring those kinds of formative experiences to more young people. Today we deliver structured, expert-led after-school programmes in over 100 schools, supporting more than 1,300 pupils every week. We work in partnership with school staff to provide safe, reliable, high-quality provision led by vetted professionals who know how to inspire young people. If you’d like to explore how this could work in your school, I’d love to speak with you.
