I lead Product Design at one of India’s largest payments banks — where 100M+ users, 1B+ monthly transactions, and AI are colliding to reshape how financial products are built. 14 years in product design. Built from behavioral psychology up. I manage a team of designers using a framework I created - Behavior-Based Design Pods - which restructures UX teams around user behaviors instead of feature backlogs. It changes how design decisions get made, how pods collaborate, and how product outcomes are measured. Here’s what most designers get wrong about AI: they treat it as a feature to be designed around. A chatbot here, a recommendation there. That’s surface work. The real shift is that AI changes the decision architecture of a product what the system knows about a user, when it intervenes, and what it chooses not to show. That’s a design problem, not an engineering problem. And most design teams aren’t structured to think at that level. My work is in that gap - where behavioral science meets product systems meets machine intelligence. Designing AI-native financial products isn’t about making interfaces for models. It’s about encoding judgment: when should the system act, when should it defer, and how do you make a user trust a decision they didn’t make?
