After completing her term as founder Vice Chancellor of Indira Gandhi Delhi Technical University for Women (Govt. of Delhi), Dr. Nupur Prakash is currently serving as Vice Chancellor, The NorthCap University Gurugram since July 2021. Under her leadership The NorthCap university was awarded, UGC 12(b) status in 2024, NAAC ‘A’ grade in 2022 and QS IGAUGE Diamond badge in 2023 in the university category. The School of Engineering at NCU was conferred with QS IGAUGE platinum badge in 2023. The university has also be accredited by Accreditation Services of International Colleges(ASIC), UK as a premier institution with commendable grades in 2024-28. Dr. Nupur Prakash has been honoured with the “Inspiring Women Edu-leader” award on International Women’s Day in 2014, by Engineering Watch, “ Outstanding Contribution to Education” at 22nd Devang Mehta Business School Award in 2014, JGBS-Top Rankers Excellence Award for “Women Role Model” in 2015, 8 th Aadhi Abadi Women Achiever’s Award 2016, which recognises women who have contributed in various walks of life as distinguished citizens, “Outstanding Contribution to Higher Education” Award in 2017 and “Life time Achievement Award for promoting girl centric education” in 2018. She has also received “Indira Parikh Award 2022” for being among the top 50 women Education Leader of the Country and conferred with the title of ‘Elite Academician 2022’ by IEEE Industry Applications Society, USA. She was invited to G8 UNESCO forum on “Education, Research and Innovation: New Partnership for Sustainable Development” in Trieste, Italy. She has been an International Consultant to Educational Consultants of India (EdCil), for an Asian Development bank funded Project on ‘ICT in Basic Education’ awarded by Ministry of Education, Govt. of Uzbekistan at Tashkent. She has travelled to Australia, Malaysia, Singapore, Dubai, USA, Tokyo, Italy, New Zealand, Hong Kong, S. Korea, to attend short-term courses, seminars, workshops and conferences. She has been a member of Board of Examiners at the University of Mauritius. She participated in the prestigious US govt. funded program for ‘Women in University Administration’, at the University of Nebraska, Lincoln and attended the ASU program in Phoenix in 2022 at Arizona, USA. Nominated by DST, UGC and Dept. of Electronics & IT under Ministry of IT to several committees of National importance and guided 15 PhD scholars in the area of Natural Language Processing, and Artificial Intelligence and published more than 100 research papers and articles in international journals/conferences.
