About

👋 Hi! I’m Parnian, a Product and UX designer based in Berlin. 🕰️ With a background in architecture and project management, I transitioned to UX design in 2022, to blend my love for design with technology in a fast-paced environment. 🎨 Ever since I can remember, I've loved solving problems through design and discovered that UX allows me to incorporate data and usability testing to create a useful and accessible product. ✨ I've been working as an architect and project manager since mid-2017. Throughout this time, I've learned a great deal and gained valuable experience that I bring with me. During this journey, I learned: ✅ Design thinking, a non-linear process requiring iterations to create a useful product. ✅ Coordinating with various disciplines, involving engineers, managers, and other stakeholders from day one saves time and money, and results in more practical solutions. ✅ User-centric approach, arranging solutions around users' needs and empathizing with them while considering limitations, and managing stakeholders. ✅ Problem-solving, taking a systematic look at every issue and seeing it as related parts that affect each other while changing one. ✅ Fail early, creating a product in your cave and back after a while is a big mistake. Testing early and often helps to recognize the painpoints and glitches fast. It's better to fail early to save money and time. ✅ Open to feedback, having critique sessions regularly, and presenting my work early and often -in either profession or school- helped me gather different perspectives and solve the issues before putting too much effort into it. ✅ Attention to details, having a meticulous eye to discern why some designs work and some don’t, which non-designers may perceive but struggle to articulate. ✅ Aesthetics and functionality, forms follow function is what I believe in. Practicality comes first in a solution, but aesthetics also aren't just something to tack on at the end.
