Prasannjit Kumar — Software Engineer
Currently, my professional responsibilities encompass the design and development of an AI-driven Cyber Recovery Agent. This software solution automates cyber recovery workflows, facilitating expedited and thorough incident response for Cohesity NetBackup and DataProtect customers. By harnessing AI-driven intelligence and customizable recovery blueprints, the agent optimizes recovery processes, ensuring enhanced efficiency and effectiveness. Previously, as a member of the Cohesity Cloud Platform Management team, also known as Helios, my responsibilities included constructing and maintaining ELT/ETL pipelines for Helios (a unified web-based SaaS solution). These pipelines were instrumental in providing multi-cloud data protection (BaaS/DMaaS), recovery, analytics, and management at scale to our Cohesity customers. Our support encompassed workloads such as object backups and recovery, file shares and object stores, development/testing, archival, replications, and analytics, regardless of whether the workloads were running on-premises, cloud, or edge environments. In addition, I have developed Cohesity Internal Apps for our Cohesity customers, which are available for purchase on the Cohesity Marketplace and can be utilized to address diverse data management and data analytics requirements. My expertise encompasses Go, Kubernetes, Docker, Cohesity DataPlatform APIs, PostgreSQL, Redis, AWS Kafka, Snowflake, Python, Node.js, MongoDB, Prometheus, Grafana, C++, Java, and I also utilize AWS, GCP, Azure, and other cloud services. In my previous role at AppOrbit Inc., I was responsible for developing microservices to containerize on-premises enterprise applications. This involved restoring these applications in cloud-native container environments such as Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE), Pivotal Kubernetes Service (PKS), and Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) at scale. My responsibilities included utilizing Docker, Kubernetes, MySQL, REST APIs, and gRPC to achieve this goal. My professional background includes a tenure as a Senior Software Engineer in the Storage and Networking team at Oracle, Santa Clara, USA, from July 2014 to October 2017. Prior to this, I held the position of Business Technology Analyst at Deloitte, Hyderabad, India, from June 2011 to April 2013, where I specialized in web content management. I graduated from Cornell University in 2014 with a Master’s degree in Computer Science. Prior to that, I obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology from the Indian Institute of Information Technology, Allahabad, India, in 2011.
