Pushkal Mudhapaka — Software Engineer

I’m a Master’s student in Computer Science at Indiana University Bloomington, and an alumnus of IIT Bhubaneswar. I’m passionate about building scalable, user-centric software systems that solve real problems and create real impact. Before grad school, I worked as a Software Development Engineer at Livspace and Freo (MoneyTap), where I led backend engineering teams, optimized microservices using Java and Spring Boot, and integrated APIs that powered key business operations. Most recently, I interned at Bloom Insurance, where I worked on decoupling systems into microservices, building responsive frontends, and writing Playwright-based test automation to ensure reliability. My technical toolkit spans across Java, Python, Spring Boot, Django, SQL, Docker, AWS, GCP, and Kubernetes, with hands-on experience in building secure REST APIs, integrating third-party platforms like Stripe, and deploying scalable applications to the cloud. On campus, I’m currently working on GPU-based scientific data compression libraries using CUDA C++ and Kokkos, combining my curiosity for research with low-level system programming. Whether it’s designing a CI/CD automation platform, building a full-stack movie ticketing system, or experimenting with distributed systems, I thrive in collaborative environments where I can learn, ship code, and make meaningful contributions.
