  • Working closely with engineering and content teams to move from early concepts to a functioning app, unblocking decisions, and maintaining design quality through implementation.
  • Conducting research sessions that directly informed core features like milestone tracking, activity recommendations, and highlight logic.
  • Designing critical system flows, including onboarding, privacy, consent, and GDPR-compliant account management, balancing regulatory requirements with ease of use.
  • Toddl uses Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) to pull age-specific milestones and activities from trusted sources like the CDC, HSE, and NHS. We then layer that knowledge with each child’s and parent’s medical history to generate relevant activities, tools, and toy suggestions with full context.
  • During development, we rely on manual evaluations to ensure the app’s inputs, including prompts and medical context, consistently produce the expected behavior. We currently use binary scoring to evaluate the credibility of each activity recommendation.
  • The next step is automation. We plan to introduce judges and agent-based systems to identify and correct poor suggestions, tightening the feedback loop and improving trust at scale.
