The project was carried out in two phase : a)Static hand gesture recognition and b) Dynamic hand gesture recognition. The combination of HSV and YCBCR colour space were being used to detect skin colour object in image. To make the system more robust the skin colour was obtain from the face of the user. KLT algorithm was used to track the hand and SVM classifier along with trajectory features were used to recognize the gesture.
