  • 1. Conducted comprehensive lab-based characterization of Synopsys PCIe SerDes IP, analyzing transmitter and receiver architectures using high-bandwidth oscilloscopes, BERTs, and network analyzers to ensure compliance with PCI-SIG standards.
  • 2. Validated PCIe receiver block performance across Generations 1 through 6, starting with Keysight BERT impairments calibration via Valiframe, followed by jitter tolerance testing across process, voltage, and temperature (PVT) corners.
  • 3. Provided support in debugging of key receiver circuit blocks, including the AFE and CDR, by analyzing adaptation parameters and BER performance to ensure alignment with design specifications and system-level goals.
  • 4. Leverage AI tools such as Github Copilot to architect data analysis tools and optimize workflows by automating test procedures and sequences using MATLAB and Python, thereby enhancing testing efficiency.
  • 5. Validated hardware test boards and software packages, collaborated with design teams to provide effective debugging support, and enabled customers to resolve issues and achieve seamless system integration.

  • 1. Worked on designing a 'High Dynamic-Range Balanced Base Station Low-Noise Amplifier' for the frequency band 1.7 - 2.6GHz using KeySight ADS.
  • 2. Utilized a GaAs-based cascode amplifier with a current-mirror bias along with input & output matching networks for the amplification stage of the Balanced Amplifier.
  • 3. Integrated the pair of amplifiers with input & output couplers and simulated the system to meet the customer's design specifications: Gain = 21.5dB, Return Loss < -18dB, Reverse Isolation < -35dB, NF < 1dB, Gain Flatness < 1dB across band, P1dBout > 24dBm, OIP3 =45 dBm with 1 - 50MHz tone spacing for Pin < -15 dBm. The supply voltage provided was 5V, and the bias current requirement was < 200 mA.
  • 4. Simulated the Balanced Amplifier over PVT and optimized the system performance by tuning the matching networks to meet the design requirements.
  • 5. Performed die floor planning as an initial layout step using Layout Editor on ADS. Integrated the amplifier & output coupler dice with a 4x4 mm 16L package.
  • 6. Presented the work done to Engineers from the MMIC Team at MACOM during the Preliminary Design Review (PDR).
  • 7. Completed the required action items post PDR, which involved adding ESD protection circuitry & a shutdown function to the balanced amplifier.
