• IAG Loyalty - formerly known as Avios - is runs the leading loyalty currency used by British Airways, Iberia, Aer Lingus and other top airlines. It is part of International Airlines Group (IAG).
• I joined the Collection Tribe as Tech Lead, working on new products to help members earn more Avios on their day-to-day spending.
• I worked on a number of projects, including:
• The relaunch of the British Airways and Aer Lingus eStores, which allows Avios collectors to earn points when they shop online with their favourite retailers (from ASOS to John Lewis). I led a team of developers, shaping the team culture and putting in place best practices in testing, monitoring and continuous integration.
• An upcoming integration with the challenger bank Monese. I helped to define the Minimum Viable Product (MVP), identify the integration points and support Monese's development team to deliver the initial integration within weeks.
• A new chatbot to streamline the experience of claiming "Missing Avios"

• Millions of people around the world collect hundreds of billions of points every year across their Avios. But when you’re ready to spend your miles on flights, things can get a little difficult.
• Reward Flight Finder's great tool makes it easy to get the most value of your British Airways Avios points.
• I built up Reward Flight Finder to have 10,000 paying customers. The business was acquired in February 2020.

• Credited on Hagemann, Hobolt and Wratil’s 2015 paper “Government Responsiveness in the European Union: Evidence from Council Voting”.

• Developing solutions independently and in small teams in Ruby used to process over $1bn of payments per year.
• Projects include detecting and handling fraudulent payments, integrations with Salesforce to make the sales team more effective and a library for validating bank details from across the Eurozone
• Scoping and delivering projects from start to finish, defining requirements and working with users both internal and external to perfect the end product

• Led efforts to develop and nurture partnerships with external software providers like Sage and Xero and “payments service providers” like PayPoint and Elavon
• Acted as a technical salesperson, using my deep technical understanding of the GoCardless platform and programming more generally to help customers understand how the product can help them and how best to leverage it

• Hired as GoCardless’s fifth employee to set up and run its customer support operations, developing tools and processes and managing a small team
• Worked with customers of all sizes, working in and managing teams and building solutions and process to manage and operate a scalable customer support operation
• Laid the groundwork for a support team of ~10 people today - for instance, the phone system which I programmed in my own time at evenings and weekends is still in use handling more than 100 phone calls per day.
