• Managing a Team of 15+ highly skilled engineers at all levels. Grew the org’s team size from ~20 to 100+. Spearheaded the entire tech re-architecture at Acko for better agility & scalability, moving away from Monolith to Microservices, in the process, choosing the right tech stack for different products etc.
• Scaled the system to support ~2million policies per day issued with ~200ms avg latency.
• Heading Engineering for Micro Insurance, Electronics & Health Verticals. Built high proficiency teams under them.
• Micro Insurance : The partnership ecosystem (B2B product) caters to the new age insurance requirements where policies are short lived and bundled with business partner’s core product offering. Notable examples are GoIbibo/MMT, Zomato, OLA, OYO, LK, HDB etc.
• Electronics : The platform catering to the electronics universe (mobile & large appliances) offering customer centric products like screen protection, accidental damage, liquid damage etc. backed up with a wide serviceability network. Another B2B product with notable partners like Amazon, Amtrust, Samsung, Large Format Retail - Pai, Croma etc.
• Health : B2B product as Corporate Health Insurance catering to employees of different organisations. Also hosts a B2C product as Retail Health for an Individual. The platform offers capabilities like TeleConsult, Online Consult, Health marketplace etc along with insurance offerings.
• The system enables 60+ partners to offer policies via Acko. More than 1500+ plan offerings, dynamic pricing constructs, A/B testing capabilities, fully automated claims/FNOL journey. Fully digital experience for the end consumer. A completely RESTFul Architecture with configurable plan and pricing to design the insurance product.

• Managed a Team of 10+ highly skilled engineers at all levels. Scaled the system to support ~4m txns/day per day with max rps of 1500 and avg qps ~1lac. Handled multiple teams under Local/International Payments (Payu, Payu Global, PayUMoney), Platform & Analytics.
• Was responsible for designing and delivery of products end to end from conceptualising, architecting to maintaining. Making it fault tolerant with System Alerts and Debugging tools.
• Developed a consistent and automated way to build, package, test and deploy applications seamlessly using Gitlab CI/CD, Docker, Marathon with a 4 tier test suite (unit, contract, system and integration).
• International Payments - Collaborated with the PayUGlobal teams from Israel, Brazil, Bagota etc in developing the international layer for accepting cross-border payments for merchants like Facebook, Netflix, OLX, Microsoft, Amazon etc in India. Driving 30% of enterprise’s revenues.
• KONG API Gateway - Infrastructured an Enterprise level API Gateway using KONG/Nginx with capabilities for route forwarding, service discovery, authentication, authorization, rate-limiting, transformations and dynamic switching between multiple internal payment gateways. Lead a plan to migrate from Monolith to Microservices architecture using RestFul communication. Redesigned the PayU API Layer, Rest RMM Level 3.

• Analytics: Created a pipeline for Data Ingestion, ETL and Analysis (IMQAV model) comprising of tools like Hadoop, Hive, Sql Metastore, PIG, Sqoop, Flume, HCatalog, Spark-Streaming and Presto empowering analysts in decision making with an Inhouse built querying platform.
• Kafka for log and event analysis which feeds into the Hadoop Data Lakes.
• Offline Payments and Inhouse POS: Developed an app based offline solution for Small & Enterprise Merchants to cater to the card community with limited or no internet as an alternative to inhouse POS solution (POS was decommissioned after certification)
• Abuse Control using Device FingerPrinting - Lead the team in design and development of in-house fraud/risk prevention system with very low latency response using drools rule engine with distributed cache. Prevent fraudulent users and their activities by designing the browser fingerprinting technique using 30+ browser parameters and their entropy correlation.
