Vikram Cotah — CEO
Crafting a Boutique Hospitality Brand with Soul | CEO – GRT Hotels & Resorts | Author | Wellness & Sustainability Advocate | Independent Director – Tamil Nadu Tourism | Chair – CII Southern Region Tourism Panel I don’t just lead a hotel brand. I lead a movement—a movement to reimagine what Indian hospitality can be. As CEO of GRT Hotels & Resorts, I’ve spent the last decade building not just properties, but places of purpose—soulful sanctuaries where wellbeing, sustainability, design, and storytelling intersect. Across 22 boutique hotels in South India, we are bringing luxury to life in tier 2 and 3 cities where the aspirations of a new India are taking root. Each GRT hotel tells a story—from ancient temple towns to serene coastlines. Our signature initiatives like The Great Butterfly Effect (sustainability), Great Being (wellness), Great Divine Darshan (spiritual tourism), and Great Kalyanam (weddings) reflect our belief: hospitality is not just service—it’s soul work. Under my leadership, GRT Hotels has grown 254% in top-line revenue, emerged stronger post-pandemic, and been recognized for our people-first, planet-conscious approach. As Independent Director on the Board of Tamil Nadu Tourism Development Corporation, I help shape the state’s vision for inclusive, experience-led tourism. As Chair of the CII Southern Region Tourism Panel, I work on policy advocacy to position South India as a cultural and wellness travel powerhouse. I am the author of two books: Mojo in a Mango Tree—a memoir of leadership, resilience, and hospitality from the heart. The Great Butterfly Effect—the sustainability story of GRT Hotels, launched by the Union Tourism Minister at the FHRAI Sustainability Summit. Travel has taken me to 50+ countries and taught me what no MBA ever could. Wellness is my compass. Writing is my therapy. And leadership? It’s not a title—it’s an everyday act of service. I’m here to help leaders, entrepreneurs, and changemakers build brands that are human, hotels that are healing, and businesses that leave a legacy. Let’s co-create the future of hospitality—one soulful experience at a time. ⸻
