About

I lead product marketing for Zapier's Model Context Protocol (MCP), the open standard that's changing how AI assistants connect to the tools developers and businesses actually use. I've spent 15+ years in B2B SaaS product marketing, mostly working on products that required evangelizing new categories or capabilities. At Mailchimp, I took SMS from zero to a 37-country launch with 300% year-two revenue growth, shipped products that scaled to hundreds of thousands of users, and was there as the company grew from a $4.2B valuation to Intuit's $12B acquisition. What draws me to MCP and AI is the same thing that's always driven my work: helping people understand transformative technology before it's obvious. Right now, we're watching AI move from isolated assistants to connected systems that can actually get work done across your tools. That shift is massive, and most people haven't internalized what it means yet. I think the best product marketers in emerging tech need to be builders themselves. I don't just position products. I use them, break them, rebuild workflows with them, and stay deep in the communities figuring out what's next. That means running my own AI agents, diving into technical specs, and constantly testing where the technology actually delivers versus where it's still hype. I write about product marketing, AI and more here on LinkedIn and at wadeburrell.com. Always happy to connect.
