• Led Wingify’s foray into mSaaS (mobile Software-as-a-Service) space. Built world’s easiest-to-use A/B testing tool for iOS apps. The product featured a WYSIWYG editor for UI manipulation on the fly, and an update-free deployment on target devices.
• Researched competitive landscape of mSaaS space to find best suited entry opportunity for Wingify. Conducted internet search and phone/face-to-face interviews with select people to collect information. Zeroed in on A/B testing as best opportunity for Wingify. Studied customer-base of Wingify and decided to build tool for iOS first as Wingify’s customer base was skewed towards iOS.
• Developed A/B testing tool for native iOS apps. Key architectural components were (1) iOS SDK for integrating A/B tests with apps, (2) remote application on mac server for running apps on iOS simulator and streaming screen contents on a web browser to facilitate creation of A/B tests, (3) backend infrastructure for collecting usage data, and (4) statistical engine to generate reports.
• Demoed beta version to select potential customers and collected feedback.

• Fourth employee of the company and the first engineer, product manager, and marketer. Set up online platform for company’s career advisory product. Was closely involved in strategic decision making and stakeholder updates.

• Worked with multiple content partners for sourcing mobile multimedia content for smartphones as well as feature phones.

• Set up platforms team to handle mission critical components of ibibo's technology stack, e.g., user authentication, friend recommendations, media database, social news feed, and internal analytics. As lead of this team, mentored a bunch of young and highly talented engineers. Together, we provided a highly available, low latency, and secure foundation for other teams for build their products on.

• Enhanced ibibo's Friend Recommendation application. Improved quality of recommendations by processing more data, and simultaneously improved response time by moving computational heavy-lifting to background. Transitioned from MySQL to MongoDB as it performed better for write-heavy workload of the new architecture. The enhanced version delivered more than 100% growth in the number of new friendships per day (one of the most important growth metrics for any social network) on ibibo's social network.
• Built ibibo games portal from scratch on LAMP stack. Later, implemented multiple optimizations (client/server-side caching, CSS spriting, domain sharding, CSS/JS minification, deferred loading, etc.) and achieved 30% improvement in page load speed.

Jun 2007 – Jun 2009 · 2 yrs · Gurugram, Haryana, India

• Founding member of ibibo's gaming business - took the product from Concept to PoC (Proof of Concept) to MVP (Minimum Viable Product) to India's largest gaming network with a Million+ Active Users. Coded the first version of the product and continually scaled it up with increasing traffic.
• Built server for synchronous real-time multiplayer gaming on Java from scratch (popular web-servers at that time didn’t support long-lived connections with full-duplex capability). Also developed a few games in Flash/ActionScript.
• Worked closely with Tencent (China's largest internet company) for customization and launch of their online gaming product in India.
