Launched on December 30, 2024, aboard ISRO's PSLV C-60 rocket as part of the SPADEX/POEM-4 mission, RVSAT-1 was designed to study the growth of the gut bacterium Bacteroides thetaiotaomicron under microgravity conditions. This research aims to enhance astronaut health during prolonged space missions and offers insights into waste management and antibiotic resistance on Earth.
