I started off my professional career with Technopak Advisors (erstwhile KSA Technopak) in the Retail Consulting practice. During my stint of 4 years, I have worked with consumer facing companies in Cement, FMCG, Apparel and E-Commerce to address business problems such as exploring new market / segments, growth & transformation, route-to-market for new products etc. During these four years, I have honed my analytical skills, ability to form a macro view of client business challenges and advice implementable solutions (also I got to travel and explore new cities like Jamui, Gopalganj & Siwan in Bihar!) My next two and half years at EY turned to be a learning opportunity in team management (managed team of 6-9) & relationship management to manage one of the most prestigious sets of clienteles (not to mention, ad-hoc and task driven only at odd hours). I was the project lead for Invest MP and Resurgent Rajasthan – the investment summit for the states of Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan. I had the opportunity to interact with Hon’ble Chief Minister(s) and department heads. EY was tasked with procuring mandates from corporates to invest in the two states. The two projects required enormous coordination with government offices, media agencies, PR agencies and overall project management for successful delivery (and eventual fee collection) Having realized my flair for people skills and consulting mindset, I pivoted my career towards banking sales focusing on growing the liabilities segment for Citibank N.A. With a sub-par first year, I went on to acquire several marquee clients for Citibank in the small and mid-market MNC space (annual T.O. > USD 50 Mn) in my second year. These clients added around 10% in regional business numbers in 2018-19 and I believe these clients are on track to add an incremental 15% in 2019-20 for Citibank. With no experience in banking, I believe that I have been able to prove my mettle only through persistent efforts and relationship building at key influencing levels across the C-level (along with smooth coordination within Citi operation teams to resolve client queries before TAT) Post Covid, I have dived deep into the world of stock market - trading and investing. With lot of red days, emotional capitulation and angst, I have settled for meagre returns by trading risk defined strategies on Nifty and Bank Nifty. I aim to generate FD returns, but quarterly (of course pretax).
