About

Akshay's 15-year journey began unexpectedly with a 6-month stint as a Financial Analyst. He then transitioned into the marketing world, making significant strides at a small yet growing digital marketing agency. Within just 2 years, he advanced from a content writer/account executive to a team lead overseeing 15 people and working with well-known brands. At the young age of 23, he was heading the North India division, being one of India's youngest business heads. In 2015, he co-founded Schbang, a fully independent, bootstrapped start-up. Schbang has since collaborated with numerous domestic and international brands, including the Godrej Group, Pidilite, Castrol, Asian Paints, Baskin Robbins, L’Oreal, Britannia, and Philips, among others. The team has grown to over 1,200 talented, young professionals across Mumbai, Delhi, Bangalore, and recently expanded to London and Amsterdam. Schbang has been recognized in LinkedIn India’s Top Startups List 2021, #12 on Brand Equity's list of Top Digital Agencies in India 2019 and Financial Times High Growth Companies of APAC 2020. Akshay has received several accolades, including the Social Samosa 30 Under 30 Award, Impact Magazine 30 Under 30 and being listed among the ‘Top 50 Content Marketing Professionals In India’. He firmly believes that age is just a number when the drive to do good work precedes everything else. Beyond his professional endeavors, Akshay is passionate about street, wildlife and baby photography, having won numerous awards, including the Canon PhotoMarathon 2015. His work has been exhibited across various exhibitions in the country. He is also an avid educator, having conducted talks and workshops across various institutions in India, training over 3,000 individuals over the last 7 years. His passion for speaking has led him to the TEDx stage, where he shared his journey of self-discovery and compared that to finding a tiger in the jungle. Additionally, Akshay is an angel investor and a mentor to several new-age start-ups. He is currently working on launching a bespoke wildlife experience company. His journey is a testament to the power of passion, dedication, and the belief that one can achieve great things regardless of age.
