• Samsung R&D Institute Bangalore houses one of the largest design teams outside of South Korea, dedicated to driving innovation on both a local and global scale.
• Comprising more than 80 designers, the team collaborates with its global counterparts on projects spanning Visual Computing, Voice Interactions, AI, Mixed Reality, Wearables, and advertising platforms for televisions and displays.
• The team also conceptualizes and commercializes products for local markets, particularly in India and Southeast Asia. Key examples include designing Samsung Wallet specifically for the Indian market and developing Samsung Finance+, a pioneering lending product for India and Southeast Asia.
• A key strategic focus was placed on building and nurturing the talented design team by establishing a robust design culture and process. These initiatives were instrumental in the team earning global respect and recognition for its impactful contributions.

• I established the UX practice for a new 0-to-1, Identity and Access Management (IAM) product for Google Workspace. This initiative was part of Google's cloud-based identity-as-a-service (IDaaS) solution, designed to help organizations manage users, groups, and devices.
• My core responsibility was to create a streamlined design process that unified product management, design, and engineering teams across global sites. This work culminated in a partnership with IAM product leadership to define the long-term vision for how the product could simplify cloud application management for IT administrators.

• I cofounded Doctl, a mobile-based healthcare startup designed to solve the critical challenge of low patient retention for chronic conditions like diabetes. The platform enabled healthcare providers (hospitals and clinics) to engage with their outpatients, improving treatment adherence and significantly reducing patient attrition.
• My responsibilities included identifying the core problem, leading primary research, synthesizing the solution, and designing the product. Post-MVP, my role expanded to spearhead business development, where I identified, pitched to, and secured our initial pilot customers.
• The product got acquired by another healthcare startup.

Mar 2003 – Dec 2013 · 10 yrs 9 mos · Hyderabad Area, India

• As the first designer at the Microsoft India Development Center (MSIDC), I pioneered the UX practice by leading the design for MSIDC's first developed product - Data Protection Manager (DPM). I then led the growth of the design function, expanding support to newly formed product teams and ultimately establishing a centralized design organization that served a diverse portfolio including servers, productivity tools, search, and mobile applications.
• To scale the organization, I setup all foundational design operations, including team structures, common processes, career paths, and staffing plans. This also involved building critical infrastructure from the ground up, such as a dedicated design studio and a state-of-the-art usability lab.
• Throughout my 11-year tenure, I led design for numerous strategic V1 products that were critical to Microsoft's portfolio. Key highlights include the System Center Server products, Office for Smartphone on Windows Phone (Microsoft's pioneering mobile OS), and market-specific innovations for emerging economies.

• As a founding member of i2's central UX team, I was part of a core group that partnered with Frog Design to redefine the user experience for the company's entire suite of ERP web applications. We developed and rolled out i2's first-ever design system, facilitating the migration of all product teams to a new, shared component-based web interface. Launched in 2001, this browser-based redesign was pioneering for its time and set a new standard for usability and design in the enterprise software industry.

• At Baan, a major European provider of enterprise resource planning (ERP) software, I was a founding member of its central UX team in Hyderabad—the first of its kind to be established in any software product company in India. This involved leading the complete design effort for two key enterprise products: Baan People, for HR operations, and Baan Projects, for project management.
