The real success of a Corporate Communication function is not just about the audience connecting strongly with the brand, but a small part of their own personality is defined by the brand. I have strived to do the same in my journey with the Aditya Birla Group, which required me to take up pivotal roles to champion communication strategy and employ an entrepreneurial mindset to expand the scope and portfolio of each of them. I started by supporting media relations for the Group, discovered my passion in propelling businesses through communication, and grew up to head the department quickly, gaining expertise across diverse sectors such as Branded Apparel and Food & Grocery. Currently, I am spearheading the communication strategies for ABFRL, driving digital channels to augment the brand, heading media relations, and being at the forefront of managing media crisis. I play an instrumental role in creating an impactful narrative for Aditya Birla Group’s sustainability initiative in the apparel business (ReEarth), interpreting the sustainability goals for the masses. My team has boosted the organization’s image and the legacy of its lifestyle brands (like Louis Philippe, Van Heusen, Allen Solly and Peter England) and retail formats (like Pantaloons and The Collective) to create a bonding with the internal & external audience with innovative communication solutions. We have launched international brands like American Eagle, Simon Carter, Hackett, and Ted Baker in India. Numerous awards won by our brands and newsletters mark my timeline. The ability to appreciate the diverse business complexities, an eye to find solutions from a communication perspective, tenaciously fighting odds to make the plans work, and replicate the relevant ideas in the rest of the business formats – these have been my success mantras. That’s how we put in place numerous and high-impact newsletters for diverse stakeholders. We have designed fourteen no-cost and organic digital campaigns during the pandemic to engage over 235K followers, and even generated revenues for brands directly. I am curious about the digital transformation that we are going through and excited to play a leading part in it. I actively contribute to industry platforms and mentor young minds on Branding, PR, and Storytelling at IIM- Raipur, Symbiosis Institute of International Business, KC College and Xavier’s institute of Communications.
