• The automotive industry is emerging as the poster child for sensor technology as it undergoes a transformation from mechanical and analog to electrical and digital. A new car’s engine control unit now controls everything from acceleration and deceleration to monitoring the vehicle inside and out. Advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) rely on different types of sensors mounted on the vehicle to gather the data the ECU requires for making decisions.
• What is the handling characteristics for the braking system in an Automated Driving feature?
• I mean does it just brakes like a teenager who started to learn about to drive, or The amount of braking pressure/timing are taken into consideration as it is a safe matter for the customers.
• Are they taking in consideration the front vehicle type / size and its braking distance (collecting real-time data) and the travel distance, road/weather conditions.
• Does the automated driving has the sensing ability to the surroundig traffic and incase of an accident couple miles ahead can it possibly changing lanes or slowing down /turn on some Hazzard lights for the coming, back traffic as warning or it's just still Primitive and a new born.
• It took us decades to accomplish the cruise control feature and fly by wire throttle body and we need to speed up in this technology to gain control of the toll loss of lives wasted in the daily traffic accidents.
