• Community Internship at Light de Literacy
• Duration: 4 June 2024 – 4 July 2024
• During my community internship with Light de Literacy, I had the opportunity to engage in meaningful grassroots initiatives focused on improving the quality of life for underserved populations. This role enabled me to develop a holistic understanding of social impact while contributing to programs aimed at community development, education, and capacity building.
• My key responsibilities included:
• Community Engagement: Collaborated with local leaders, volunteers, and community members to identify pressing issues and develop sustainable solutions. Facilitated workshops on health awareness, education, and skills development, which resulted in tangible improvements in community welfare.
• Program Coordination: Assisted in the planning and execution of multiple initiatives, such as educational outreach programs, health camps, and women’s empowerment workshops. Coordinated between different teams, ensuring smooth communication and resource allocation.
• Data Collection and Analysis: Gathered data through surveys and interviews to assess the impact of ongoing projects. This information was utilized to create reports that informed future strategies, leading to more targeted and effective interventions.
• Fundraising and Outreach: Participated in fundraising activities, including grant writing and donor engagement. Contributed to the development of compelling proposals that successfully secured funding for various community projects.
• Through this internship, I honed my skills in project management, cross-cultural communication, and problem-solving. I also gained a deep appreciation for the challenges faced by marginalized communities and the resilience they demonstrate in addressing these issues. Working with Light de Literacy strengthened my commitment to social justice and community-driven development, shaping my professional outlook towards making a lasting impact in the nonprofit sector.
