• I was selected for MITACS global research internship programme where I got an oppurtunity to travel to Canada and perform research internship under guidance of Dr. Kelly Hawboldt on the topic of, Bioprocessing of Rock Seaweed for Bioproducts at Memorial University of Newfoundland. I reviewed literature on brown algae, identified valuable products (lipids & pigments), green extraction methods with yield optimization. I have performed solvent, soxhlet and supercritical carbondioxide methods to analyse solubility of fatty acids in ethanol at various conditions.

• The project was on, Bioremediation of wastewater, recovery of bio-oil & PHB from biomass by HTL in subcritical water conditions. During this internship, I have treated sewage wastewater using algae, recovered biofuels & plastics from biomass via solvent & HTL methods. Even recovery of lipid, biodiesel, carbohydrates, & PHB from harvested biomass, using solvent extraction was carried out. Co-production of bio-oil & PHB (monomer of bio-plastic) via hydrothermal liquefaction was carried out under subcritical water conditions.

• I worked on the topic, " Production of Amylase from agro-waste by solid-state fermentation using fungi". The production and extraction of amylase by SSF with agro-waste was carried out and I assayed its activity using DNSA method. I have estimated reducing sugars, found activity to be good & has shown promising applications in textile industry
