• My primary activity was exploration of ideas that can lead to new products or significant new capabilities for existing products. I also helped to grow the CTO Office in India by creating a small team of senior developers.
• Accomplishments:
• Explored the relevance of machine learning (ML), increased internal awareness and helped the application of ML within Informatica.
• Created an ML platform that could be used for rapid prototyping of new applications, by leveraging some open source ML libraries. Also provided a UI to create classification models while experimenting with different algorithms.
• Pioneered the use of ML for customer support use cases; built an application to predict escalations using classification algorithms which was internally used by Informatica support.
• Created a prototype for recommending user actions in Informatica’s data preparation tool (Rev) using ML-based prediction.
• Created a prototype to discover, explore and curate similar/related data based on a raw data profile using clustering.
• Collaborated with IIT Kanpur on a research problem related to classification that led to an M.Tech. thesis project for a student.
• Learned to build web UI using angular; built the UI for some of the prototypes myself including a mobile UI (using ionic).
• Hired a couple of senior developers for the CTO office to work on some of the initiatives in the areas of ML, IoT and Spark.

• [24]7 Customer helps consumers interact with businesses over a variety of channels such as chat, voice and web to optimize business objectives (sales conversions, customer satisfaction scores, etc.). The [24]7 products leverage big data analytics to learn about customers, target segments and personalize the interaction.
• I was responsible for providing architecture leadership for all product & platform initiatives out of Bangalore development center and on company-wide efforts such as the big-data platform & user profiles. I led the creation of an Architecture Review Committee for consultations/reviews and sharing expertise across the product and operations groups. I worked with product management, data science group and solution engineering to understand requirements, crystallize product definitions and validate road-maps in the areas of campaign management, model creation, model deployment, and personalization. I built a campaign management prototype, consulted on reporting infrastructure projects and helped the data science group evaluate big-data technologies for ad-hoc queries and model development.

• Informatica is the world’s number one independent provider of data integration software.
• I joined the repository group in Nov 2008, which was part of the data integration business. I worked out of the Informatica Bangalore office for about 2 years. As the senior-most technical person, I consulted with some of the other groups on projects, and worked with the management team on the evolution of the Bangalore office.
• Over time I started working more with the CTO organization and from June 2010 I was formally part of the CTO office working in the Redwood City office. I worked closely with the leadership team to identify new product opportunities, prototype them and drive execution. One of the key ideas that I prototyped and transitioned into the product was integration of Informatica DI with Hadoop.

• The platform & infrastructure group developed and hosted platforms to support end-user participation (e.g., message boards, ratings & reviews and alerts) on Yahoo’s websites, feed processing to automate integration of third-party data, web services and the back-end for Yahoo Maps.
• As the participation platforms architect, I ensured high-quality products by conducting reviews and consulting on complex projects. I worked with product managers and management team to understand requirements, to help create product roadmaps, to improve internal processes and to create a network of product architects to drive common initiatives.
• I was also one of the initial members of the core architects group (created by the CTO) to increase overall technical quality at Bangalore.

• VOS implements the underlying server platform for the Oracle database and related products such as ASM by providing basic services, e.g., server/session/call management, process/thread model, I/O, memory management, and primitives for concurrency control and recovery from system failures in a platform independent way.

• Led the development of a feature for complex event-processing engine (CEP), to correlate event-streams from real-time data, using an SQL-like language (CQL, based on work at Stanford). The feature is targeted at applications analyzing real-time information in scenarios such as financial markets, RFID sensors and business activity.
