• Managing multiple technical teams that are supporting the pricing needs of the accounting systems in Fannie Mae. The company has a $700 billion portfolio that needs to be mark-to-market accounted on a monthly basis. This portfolio forms a third of the balance sheet of the company’s quarterly financial statement. The market prices generated by my teams’ applications were a crucial input to the creation of these statements. The pricing processes interacted with about 10 upstream processes and more than a dozen downstream consumers.

• Managed a team of 14 members. I owned the budget process, employee development, projects, operations, and the customer/interface relationship management. My team employed leading open-source technologies such as Spring and Hibernate on Weblogic/Solaris/Oracle 10g platform to deliver applications of high quality and reliability.
• During my tenure as Project Manager, all the project deliveries were on time and under budget. I reduced the team size by 40% while steering the applications to a level of self-sustaining operational maturity.

• As a Team Lead, was responsible for the re-engineering effort at Fannie Mae known as the “Core project”. I led a team of developers in the securitization stream of the project, fully responsible for the ‘packet creation’ functionality – involving creation of various types of securities by recombining cash flows from underlying collateral in the form of loans or other packets. Our team supported multiple interfaces – GUI, JMS, and batch – to the sub-system for creation and management of these financial structures. We used technologies such as Weblogic application server (version 8), Oracle 9i, Clearcase, JMS, and Ant.
• I was also was responsible for integrating the Fannie Mae security framework with our application, as well as developing the overall batch job framework for our stream.

• FOLIOfn is an innovative online brokerage offering portfolio based financial services to retail and institutional customers (www.foliofn.com). I worked as the system architect leading the infrastructure team that worked on all aspects of the online and batch systems including internal and external web sites. We designed and developed security, transactions, and database connectivity frameworks. Technologies such as Enterprise Java beans, Servlets, JSPs, JMS etc. with a Sybase database server were used to implement this application. This application also involved the integration of the core system with several third-party sub-systems such as Portfolio management systems, real-time quotes providers and information validation services. I worked in all phases of the software development lifecycle – requirement gathering, object-oriented design, development, testing, deployment, production support, and documentation.
• Among the various projects I worked on, the principal ones were:
• Designed, developed and maintained integration of Foliofn's customer service infrastructure with a partner's customer service infrastructure providing specialized access to a subset of the data. This application requires security at multiple levels (application, network, and data), a high degree of customization, and significant refactoring of our core application.
• Designed and developed an XML-based reporting solution for reporting customer statements, trade confirmations, financial activity report etc. This solution integrated several technologies including XML, XSL, Servlets, and EJB. This system has since been generalized to become a generic reporting infrastructure in which new report types can be easily defined.
• Configured and deployed the application at a client site located in Asia with several regional customizations.
• Established the basic security framework for user authentication, authorization, and access control lists etc. for this large internet application.

• 2. Moved on to developing web applications in the education domain (Petersons) with IBM Global Services
