My professional experience with HSBC Bank, The Capital Group, Barclays Bank, Accenture, & nasscom has enabled me to develop expertise in 360-degree marketing & communications with a focus on brand & communication – external & internal, leadership & employee communication, business & crisis communication, retail sales & distribution, reward & recognition, (Sales Conventions) franchising in India, business development & product sales, social media and digital marketing, content marketing, & employee branding. With the Capital group of companies, from 1997 to 2004, I set up Planet IQ (a pioneer in using educational technology to complement school education in a fun, individualized & interactive way for children between 3 & 12 years) with 14 franchise centres in India. A long stint of 16 years with HSBC Bank & Barclays Bank saw me in corporate communication (external, internal & CSR), reward & recognition, HR Communications, M & A, building the CSR charter, business development, sales performance management, sales & distribution, equity & insurances sales, business development, sales performance management, & banking operations. My role with Accenture was to lead corporate communications for India, Sri Lanka & Bangladesh across all entities for >130,000 employees to align employees to the company's strategic vision. With a particular focus on learning & implementing new communications trends & using interactive mediums, my objective was to make communications an effective vehicle for critical leadership communication, business initiatives, policies & practices, corporate marketing, recruitment marketing, digital media, and crisis communication. The role was that of an internal journalist, the brand guardian, the company's conscience keeper, chief reputation officer, the culture ambassador, content captain, the internal media manager, the message reviewer, dialogue manager & even as the transparency monitor for the business entities. Since 2016, I have operated as a Brand Strategy and Communications Consultant/ Fractional CMO/ offering integrated, research-based, digital communication & marketing strategies designed to bring brands & their audiences closer together for a diverse range of products and startups.
