Mr Koshy is the founding MD & CEO) of Open Network for Digital Commerce (ONDC), a first-of-its-kind initiative to democratize e-commerce in India. After graduating from IIM Bangalore in 1989 he joined the industry and in 1996, he became part of the startup team that established NSDL, the first depository in India, which led to the transformation of capital markets. He played a key role in multiple national digital transformation projects, including the Tax Information Network, Online payment for direct and indirect taxes, the Central record-keeping agency for pensions, Automation of SEZs, and helping in the design of the GST etc. He was part of many committees of Securities Exchange Board of India (SEBI), the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) and Ministry of Finance. Later, he joined EY and as a Partner he was involved in digital transformation including the implementation of UIDAI and the Electronic Vaccine Information Network (eVIN) and COWIN, the GST network and the Digital Infrastructure for Knowledge Sharing (DIKSHA). He worked with social protection and identity programs with multilateral organisations like the World Bank and ADB across many countries and with eminent leaders like Mr Nandan Nilekani and Dr. R.S. Sharma, in India’s digital transformation. Most recently, he was part of the team that conceptualised ONDC, and as the MD & CEO, lead the charge for its rapid growth. Under a little over 3 years ONDC has received multiple recognitions like the National Award for eGovernance, Gold Award for “Application of Emerging Technologies for providing Citizen-Centric Services” 2024, CNBC-TV18’s ‘Disruptor of the Year’ 2023, Startup of the Year Award 2023 by India Digital Awards and "Fintech Disruptor Company of the Year" by the prestigious Global Fintech Awards 2023. After relinquishing his position from ONDC in June 2025, he has been playing a role of evangelisation and enabling of digital technologies, particularly in the are of Digital Public Infrastructure. As part of this agenda, he now plays multiple roles including that of Member of International Advisory Group of Center for Open Societal Systems (COSS) of IIITB, Advisor , Ministry or Tourism, boards in a number of companies , Advisor for BCG etc and also supporting a few international agencies in their adoption of DPI He has been key note speaker Globally in more than 200 events He has been recognised for his contributions by his alma mater IIM B by conferring Distinguished Alumnus (IIM DAA Award 2024).
