About

Embedded in India's startup ecosystem since 2014, wearing different hats - founder, investor and enabler. I have seen the ecosystem evolve first hand from the Flipkart times to 100+ Unicorns, from handful of global VCs to 100+ India born VCs. Still excited after all these years, because I believe the inflection point for startups has come now (in 2023) as startups move from Indian consumption driven and US SaaS driven businesses, to early days of DeepTech and Manufacturing sectors (think Space, Defense, Semiconductors, Precision Manufacturing, Genomics, etc.)! And cloud has a huge role to play in enabling startups, and even Enterprises, in each of these domains. Very bullish on the opportunities ahead of us in India! Love speaking with founders, as their enthusiasm and passion is contagious. Thankfully in my role, I get to interact with startups and VCs a lot, witnessing the scaling of businesses and birth of new ideas and even verticals. It's a chance to learn from the startups, and together shape the future with them. Over index on bias for action (just do it!) and getting hands dirty (leaders must embrace this for their teams to be successful!) All views are personal!

  • Responsible for early stage VC relationship in India, including 30+ investors in the country. Lead scoping and execution of strategic and operational priorities for early stage startup business in India.
  • Initiated AWS coverage and relationships with Micro VCs in 2021, a new/emerging class of startup investors, by launching a Micro-VC landscape report with IVCA & Praxis (first such coverage in India).
